About Composition at UNT

The composition program at the University of North Texas is one of the largest and most diverse in the nation, with approximately 70 composition students and seven faculty members representing a variety of compositional aesthetics and approaches. Regular guest composer residencies, visiting new music specialists, and dozens of events each year provide students with a rich educational and artistic experience.

Voertman Concert Hall

Renovated in 2010, Voertman Hall seats 380. Formerly known as the Concert Hall, the new performance space includes an upgraded mechanical system to reduce noise, multi-layered walls for sound isolation, a control booth, a ticket booth, a Green Room and updated lighting and audio systems.

Get Tickets for Winspear Hall and Lyric Theater events. Many Voertman Hall concerts are free, though check the calendar for details.

The UNT College of Music began live streaming ensemble performances in 2009 for parents, potential students, and distant colleagues while showing the world-renowned music programs at UNT.

Recordings are available to UNT students and faculty for educational use only. Some concerts are available on youtube.
