University Singers

The 55-65 member University Singers, conducted by Kristina Caswell MacMullen, explores a wide variety of repertoire from a cappella to works with instrumental ensemble or orchestra.

The University Singers also combine annually with the University of North Texas Grand Chorus to present extended works with orchestra. Recent performances include Verdi and Mozart’s Requiems, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.

Concert Choir

The 75 voice Concert Choir serves the broader interests of our undergraduate population, particularly those anticipating a career in choral music education, through a wide ranging repertoire that is both accessible and challenging. The ensemble regularly partners with the area’s finest high school choirs and also joins the A Cappella Choir and Chamber Choir each year to perform major works with orchestra as the Grand Chorus.

About Choral at UNT

The UNT choral singing program is comprised of eight ensemble opportunities. In addition to participation in the university choirs, students regularly perform with the choruses of the Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, the Dallas Symphony Chorus, Denton Bach Society, Schola Cantorum of Texas, and the Turtle Creek Chorale. A significant number of our students hold positions in professional choirs in the metroplex, including the Dallas Bach Society, Helios, Orchestra of New Spain, and Orpheus Chamber Singers.
